For those of you that fly internationally, do you usually stick to the Carribbean, Latin America, Europe, Asia, South Pacific, etc?  You get the idea.  If your answer was that you like to travel all around the world then my favorite frequent flier card is by far the American Advantage Citi Bank Cards.  American Airlines are part of a large airline carrier alliance called One World Alliance, this affords a frequent flier the opportunity to fly to virtually any continent.  AAdvantage are currently offering a bonus of 30,000 miles simply for signing up, receiving a card and spending $750 in the first four months of membership.  That translates to one round trip ticket to numerous countries internationally.  Not only is the introductory offer fabulous, but you earn one mile per dollar spent.  So spend all of life’s expenses (ie food, gas, toiletries, bills, etc) on your card and watch your travel awards accumulate.  Don’t forget to peruse their website, aa.com to find other ways such as their amazing dining club where you can earn 3-5 miles per dollar spent!

If you are not an international travel addict like myself, and you prefer domestic destinations, check to see if Southwest Airlines flies to your desired locations.  If they do then their miles card is a good way to go, but make sure an do your homework, they do not fly to Hawaii and often have unusual airports such as Ft. Lauderdale instead of Miami, and Dallas Love.

The future of frequent flier clubs remain uncertain, there have been numerous large scale merges in the airline industry resulting in decreased competition which has consequently driven prices higher.  All the more reason to utilize every free travel opportunity that fits your needs.
